SNAP Interface

Series E SNAP Interface

SRC Computers' SNAP interface allows commodity microprocessor boards to connect to, and share memory with, the reconfigurable MAP® processors and Multi-Ported Common Memory nodes that make up the rest of the SRC® system. By using the SNAP interface to connect to the microprocessors' memory subsystem instead of its I/O subsystem, SRC systems can sustain significantly higher interconnect bandwidths. In addition, the SNAP interface can either connect directly to a single MAP processor or to the SRC Hi-Bar® switch for system-wide access to multiple MAP processors, other microprocessors or Multi-Ported Common Memory.
